Now that your employees are leaving the safety of their homes and coming back into the public arena, it’s essential to ensure that their workspace is safe and clean. The government expects specific SOPs to be followed, such as hand-washing, wearing masks, and maintaining a safe distance.

3.Re-Work The Floor Seating Plan

For your employees that are coming in to work, make sure that their desks are placed at a safe distance from their colleagues. Avoid gathering in meeting rooms and cafeterias. Divide them into groups “A” and “B” so that they take their lunch or washroom breaks in shifts. You can install glass or plastic dividers between each cubicle so that there’s no chance of droplet transmission.

4.Regular Cleaning and Disinfecting

This is one of the most crucial steps to follow. Make sure that you’re using disinfectants that are EPA-approved. The CDC recommends sanitizing doorknobs, desktops, and phones. From the desks and drawer handles to washroom counters and even the floors, everything should be regularly cleaned, disinfected, and wiped. These are all high-touch areas, which can be a source of virus transmissions as the coronavirus can persist on surfaces from 2 hours up to 5 days.

During this time, if any employee reports being infected with the virus, do a thorough cleaning of the space to eliminate any particles that are left behind.
